Established in the year 2000, the Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of NCE has built excellent reputation in teaching. The Sanctioned Students Strength in the department is (120 x 3 Years)=360.
Since its inception, the Department has shown exponential growth in terms of modernization of the existing laboratories and establishment of new laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, curriculum development in consonance with the industrial needs, placement of the students, and research papers publication of the faculty members. The Department is well supported in infrastructure and hardware & software resources for UG program.

The Department equipped with PCs, provides all the necessary computing facilities to the students, faculty and staff. Analytical and simulation tools and test beds/working benches are available to perform the experiments and to have development in different dimensions of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
ECE is making exhilarating progress in areas ranging from network, mobile communications to VLSI Design. In labs and classrooms, students draw on the expertise and knowledge of our highly qualified and competent faculty, integrating practical, hands-on research experience with challenging and interesting course-work. The team approach is very warm in the Department of ECE.
Faculty members are encouraged to take independent initiatives in all the relevant academic and research & development activities including teaching, research, supervision of students, continuing education programs, and organization of workshop, short term courses, and seminars / conferences.
Department Library comprises of text books, compact Discs (Supporting course material), Project Reports and lab manuals.

Ms.C.kanmani Pappa, Assistant Professor has Presented a paper entitled “Visual Perception model with an application to Hi- Fidelity Image Annotation” a DRDO, Ministry of Defense, Government of India, Sponsored National Conference on Recent Trends and Research Issues in Antennas on February 2010 organized by Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur.
2. Ms.M.Subbulakshmi, Assistant Professor has presented a paper entitled “Logarithmic Quantization Index Modulation a perceptually better way to embed data within a cover sigmal” a DRDO, Ministry of Defense, Government of India, Sponsored National Conference on Recent Trends and Research Issues in Antennas on February 2010 organized by Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur.
3. Ms.C.Mariyal Assistant Professor has presented a paper entitled “Color Video Denoising using Sparse and Redundant Representations” in the International Conference on Embedded Systems on July 2010 organised by Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore jointly with Oklahoma State University,StillWater,USA.
4. Mr.V.K.U.Ahamed Gani, Assistant Professor, got best outstanding staff award in our college for the Academic year 2009-2010
5. Mrs.V.M. Thowlath Begam, Assistant Professor, has attended a one day seminar on “Nano Scale Device Modelling” Organized by IEEE student branch and IEEE Madras section at Francis Xavier Engineering College,Tirunelveli.

STUDENTS
1. Final year students (S.Vaishnavi and G.Mahalakshmi) got 3rd prize in paper presentation in sree sowdambika college of Engineering, Aruppukottai.
2. Third year student (B.Sajna mol) got second prize in shot put event, District athletic meet.
3. Third year students have been selected for quarter final level in Anna University Tirunelveli Foootball match at Scad Engineering College
4. The mini projects done by 17 batches from our department have been Selected for the Intra college Level Mini project Contest.
5. J.Nisha, M.Priyadharshini and P.Ibrahim Samsudeen, M.Abdul Rahuman from Final year Won the First and third Prize in the Mini Project Contest held in our college on 21st October 2010.
6.Final Year Students(M.Viswa sundar,M.syed Zahir ullah) got First Prize in Gaming Oraganized by Infant Jesus College of Engineering Symposium,IJELCTO’10.
