Electrical & Electronics Engineering
With the help of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated staff and state-of-art laboratories, the department provides excellent instruction in theory and practical. Lab facilities are available in Electrical Circuits, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Power System Simulation, Microprocessors and Measurements and Instrumentation. Separate A.C and D.C. machine labs are also available to give ample practical expertise. To keep pace with recent advances, softwares like MATLAB, PSPICE, ETAP and PSCAD are also used.

REPORT ON THREE DAYS WORKSHOP
Three days workshop on “National Franchisee Training Programme” was conducted by Transmission and Distribution Training and Development Institute, Madurai, from 23rd – 25th June 2011 at National College of Engineering, Maruthakulam.
Day 1: 23rd June 2011 – Inaugural Function & Technical Seminar
Prof.A.A.Mohamed Faizal, HOD/EEE, NCE welcomed the gathering. Prof.Dr.M.Mohamed Sitheeq, Principal, NCE delivered the presidential address of the function. The chief guest Er.A.Krishnan, Executive Engineer, TNEB, Vallioor, addressed the gathering and presented the technical seminar on “Fault Analysis of Electrical System” in the morning session. Er.C.Kannan, Senior Manager, Transmission & Distribution Training Institute, TANGEDCO, Madurai, addressed the gathering and presented the technical seminar on “Protective Relays & Circuit Breakers” in the afternoon session.
Day 2 : 24th June, 2011 – Technical seminar and Field Visit
Er. C.Palaniappan, Manager, TNEB, Madurai, presented the technical seminar on “Metering and Billing” in the morning session. Er.Sundarraj delivered the technical seminar on “Industrial Safety” in the morning session.
In the afternoon session 40 students of Final year EEE along with two faculty members accompanied by Er.Palaniappan and Er.Sundarraj visited Karandhaneri 110/11kv Substation
Day 3: 25th June, 2011 – Technical seminar & Valedictory function
Er.Sahayaraj, Senior Manager, TNEB, Madurai, presented the technical seminar on “TNEB-Franchisee” in the morning session. In the afternoon session certificates were distributed to the students by Er.Sahayaraj, Er.C.Kannan, Prof.Jagubar Ali, HOD/S&H, NCE and Prof.A.A.Mohamed Faizal. Vote of thanks was given by the student secretary Mr.Bahis Kadheen Khan, IVYr.EEE and the function cocluded with the National Anthem.
