CAD/CAM LABOROTORY

The CAD lab includes 39 computers of latest configuration with support for advanced CAD/CAE applications, along with the most competent teaching faculty. Industry standard software’s like AutoCAD, Solid works and ANSYS are introduced to students. AutoCAD is used to create technical drawings of machine parts. Third semester Students are introduced to 2D drawings in AutoCAD. SOLIDWORKS is used for 3D modeling by the fifth semester mechanical engineering students. ANSYS is used for analysis by seventh semester mechanical engineering students. In addition to these CNC machines like CNC Lathe and CNC milling machines are also available for imparting knowledge of industry oriented experiments to our students.

 

OBJECTIVES: COMPUTER AIDED MACHINE DRAWING LABORATORY

  To make the students understand and interpret drawings of machine components so as to prepare assembly drawings either manually and using standard CAD packages.

  To familiarize the students with Indian Standards on drawing practices and standard components.

OBJECTIVES: COMPUTER AIDED SIMULATION & ANALYSIS LABORATORY

To enable the students

To gain hands on expeience on Simulation of Air conditioning, Hydraulic / Pneumatic cylinder, cam and follower mechanism using C / MATLAB
To gain hands on experience on Stress analysis, Mode frequency analysis, Harmonic analysis, Thermal stress analysis, conductive and convective heat transfer analysis of various components.

ENGINEERING PRACTICES LABORATORY

Engineering practices lab provides facilities to practice in welding, Sheet metal, Plumbing, Carpentry, Foundry, Machining practice, etc. Equipments include arc welding transformer machine with oil and air cooled, oxy-acetylene Gas welding equipments with all accessories. Many different plumbing components are available to make basic pipe connections such as mixed pipe material connection and pipe connections with different joining components. Different types of power tools such as Circular Saw, Planer, Hand Drilling Machine, Jigsaw etc., are available to make different types of joints in wood. Rotary Hammer and Demolition Hammer are also available for Demonstration purpose to the students. Foundry section facilitated to make mould preparation for gears, step cone pulleys, tumbles, grooved pulleys etc.

  To provide exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY-I LABORATORY

The Manufacturing Technology (MT-I) Laboratory provides students with the opportunity to study and practice manufacturing processes. This laboratory provides students with experiential learning of the nature and technique of manufacturing processes. Students can set up and operate machines and manufacture parts. Student learning from lab experiences is integrated with prior and subsequent learning of other engineering topics such as engineering materials and quality planning and control.

The MT-I Laboratory includes facilities to demonstrate and explore examples of casting, molding, machining and joining processes. The MT Laboratory is used on a scheduled basis for Manufacturing Technology-I and Engineering Practices Laboratory courses. The MT-I Laboratory also provides facilities for students to carry out process and product design projects in many courses. To date, the lab equipments have been used for studies in machining, injection molding and welding. The machine tools have also been used to fabricate pieces of equipment for experiments.

OBJECTIVE

Objective of the MT-I Lab is to provide opportunities to gain hands on experience on working of general purpose machine tools and on various manufacturing processes.
