Awareness Program on “TN Smart App”

National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Redcross (YRC) of National College of Engineering jointly organized an Awareness Program on “TN Smart App” to the B.E final Year students on 16th July 2019 with the aim of giving an awareness to the public about the natural disasters.
The TN-SMART mobile app has been introduced by the Tamilnadu Disaster Management Authority to disseminate alert and it would be linked to an alarm system to all registered members. Using this App, information regarding disaster possibilities, warnings, amount of rainfall, do’s and don’ts during floods, etc., would be disseminated. During disasters like tsunami and cyclone, the alarm would go to the registered members. The alarm would stop only after they view the message.
The inaugural session started at 11:00 AM in the college auditorium. The respected Principal Dr.A.A. Mohamed Faizal gave an inspiring presidential address to the gathering. The chief Guest and eminent resource person Mr.Sabesan, Nanguneri YRC Coordinator and Mr.Kumar,Nanguneri Deputy Tashildar demonstrated practically to the students on the usage of TN Smart Android Mobile App after installation of the Mobile App in their Smart Phones.
The arrangement of the awareness program was made by NSS Coordinator Mr.C.Muthuvel, Mr.Prince and YRC Coordinator Mr. Alangaram.
